<p>More often blocking problems are due to wrong passwords and repeated failed login attempts to a mailbox.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Repeated failed login attempts usually indicate:</strong></h4>



<p><strong>&#8211; A third party is attempting to brute-force attack your account.</strong></p>



<p>As part of our commitment to providing a secure hosting service all failed logins to your email accounts, website or control panel will be logged and blocked by our firewall after 10 incorrect attempts.</p>



<p><strong>&#8211; A device with mail client that is trying to connect with old/wrong password</strong>.</p>



<p>One issue that can occur is when you, or another colleague, reset a mailbox password but forget to update it on a particular device that accesses your email. The device will continue trying to connect with the old password and after several failed login attempts your IP address will be blocked.</p>



<p><strong>&#8211; A person who has forgotten his/her password and has manually made 10 unsuccessful login attempts in a row.</strong></p>



<p>People often share one IP address in the office and when repeated unsuccessful attempts are registered, it may cause blocking of all email accounts, including the ones of your colleagues. It’s important that you don’t keep trying to connect to the mailbox with the wrong password. Doing so will cause your IP address to be blocked again and again.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>How to unblock the IP?</strong></h4>



<p>In most cases, our system will automatically unblock the IP address within the next 30 minutes. In order to do that, you need to make sure that you have found which of the reasons above are causing the issue and try to resolve it.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>How to resolve it?</strong></h4>



<p>Anyone who connects to the mailbox in question should stop doing so until you have updated the password for them&nbsp;<a href="https://www.svenskadomaner.se/en/support/625#title3" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">through cPanel</a>. Power down any computer, mobile or tablet that is attempting to connect to the mailbox.</p>



<p>After the password has been tested and reset you can then power up each device and update the password before attempting to connect again.</p>



<p>If you can’t complete these tasks or you are not really sure what is causing the issue you should reach out to support section and submit a ticket providing the following details:</p>

<p>One of the most common reasons for not connecting to your email is due to wrong username or password. You should pay attention to your username because people often forget to write the full email address, which includes username and domain name, i.e. username@example.com. If it is correct, please double check your password and make sure it doesn’t have an empty space in case you are copying it.</p>

Choose &#8220;Value is greater than&#8221; in the third drop-down and then type your first date of vacation in specified format yyyy-mm-dd.</p>



<p>7. Click on the plus icon next to the first date and do the same choosing &#8220;Value is less than&#8221; and typing your last day of vacation.</p>



<p>8. In the next section &#8220;…execute the following actions&#8221; choose &#8220;Reply with message&#8221; and type your message and subject.</p>

<p>Incoming mail server (account type&nbsp;<strong>IMAP</strong>):&nbsp;<strong>mail.svenskadomaner.se</strong><br>Server Port:&nbsp;<strong>993</strong></p>



<p>Outgoing mail server (SMTP):&nbsp;<strong>mail.svenskadomaner.se</strong><br>Server Port:&nbsp;<strong>465</strong></p>



<p>Enter your username + password even where it says &#8220;<strong>optional</strong>&#8220;!</p>

<p>Briefly, the difference between the option &#8220;POP&#8221; and &#8220;IMAP&#8221; is how you choose to read and download your e-mails.</p>



<p>When selecting &#8220;POP&#8221;, your account is downloading your emails from inbox to the mail client you are using and those mails will then not be saved on our servers (webmail). You will therefore not be able to read your email from multiple locations and clients, instead the emails are stored locally on the client where you last downloaded your e-mails to. Many mail clients offer an option to save a copy of the email on the server so you can read your mail from multiple locations.&nbsp;With POP settings, the other folders (e.g., Sent) are not synchronized with the server and will only be displayed locally in the client you have sent the mail from.</p>



<p>If you instead choose &#8220;IMAP&#8221;, your emails will be saved on our servers so that you can read, write and send emails from multiple locations or clients.<br>Synchronization applies to all folders, which means that your email looks the same in all connected clients in different devices (computer, phone and / or tablet).</p>
