How does Microsoft 365 differ from the Office suite?
In 2020, Microsoft combined all of its productivity services to offer a more complete solution for businesses. They renamed many of their Office 365 products to Microsoft 365. Microsoft 365 includes the Office apps, but also security features, device management, and collaboration services like Teams and SharePoint. It also changed format from a one-time purchase to a subscription service to ensure access to the latest versions of the Office apps and all updates that are released.
Can I combine different types of licenses within the same company?
Yes, you can combine different Microsoft 365 licenses within the same company. This can be useful if you have users with different needs. For example, you can assign users with office work desktop versions of the Office apps, while you can assign users who are out in the field web versions of the apps.
