How to import DNS/forwarders data?

In order to import DNS and forwarders data for domain follow steps below:

1. Open exported data in textual data editor

Open file that contains exported data with name domain-dns.txt with suitable program on your computer that can edit textual data (e.g. TextEdit program on Mac OSX or Notepad program on Windows)
If you don't have this file, then first export DNS/forwarders data.

2. Navigate to Advanced DNS Editor

  1. Navigate to domain's main page
  2. Scroll down to Basic DNS section
  3. Click on Control Panel button to open Advanced DNS Editor
    If Control Panel button is not accessible, then either domain is not available (active or pending suspension) or is not properly connected with service.

3. Import DNS data

  1. On Advanced DNS Editor page select domain you want to export
  2. For each DNS record found in textual file
    • Create new DNS record and enter record respective values (name, type, TTL and value/address) from opened file - one line corresponds to one zone

4. Import MX data

  1. From Advanced DNS Editor page navigate to home page of Control Panel and then to MX Entry page
  2. Read email routing information from opened file and select appropriate email routing option on the page
  3. For each MX record found in textual file
    • Create new MX record and enter record respective values (priority and destination)

5. Import Mail forwarders

  1. From Advanced DNS Editor page or MX entry page, navigate to home page of Control Panel and then to Mail forwarders page
  2. For each mail address forward found in textual file
    • Create new mail address forwader and copy record respective values (email address being forwarded and email address to forward to) from opened file - one line corresponds to one forwader
  3. For each domain forward found in the textual file
    • Create new domain forwarder and copy record respective values (domain being forwarded and domain forwarded to) from opened file - one line corresponds to one forwarder

6. Import Web forwarders

  1. From Advanced DNS Editor page or from Mail forwarders page or from MX Entry page navigate to home page of Control Panel and then to Web forwarders page
  2. For each web forward found in the textual file
    • Create new web forwarder and copy record respective values (domain, directory, redirect URL, type, match www and wildcard) from opened file - one line corresponds to one forwarder.
